The shame of this week has been  the issues that all of us are suffering with the COVID-19.
Due to the current situation we didn´t have as many students as we expected. We have to admit that, on the bright side we were able to enjoy only having two students and we had and had pleanty time to carry out the activity we had planned.
We were working on Augmented Reality and the Water Cycle. 💧☀☁☂

We divided the explanation between both of us and we had a really good feeling when we finished the task. The students seemed really happy and we even had time to ask them some questions about what they had learnt and we had passed our aim. 😚

The first part of our speech was about the explanation of the different processes of the Water Cycle mentioning the elements that occur in nature and that are essential. For that to be interesting and to facilitate the memorization of the main contents we had made a mock-up. Thus, in a visual manner, children could imagine and recreate all the events that happened in such Cycle.

In fact, to explain the fusion process in a dynamic and fun way and LIVE we got the students to do an experiment about the snow melting from the mountains into rivers and ending up in the sea.

Here we have a little piece of video to watch these performance. To reach these result, within the bottle that is found inside the mountain, we mixed water and blue dye with vinager and sodium bicarbonate, producing the a chemical reaction. To watch it, please click the following link: https://youtu.be/Rgp5gh6mOnk

Then, in the second part, we transmit them the steps to achieve the: AUGMENTED REALITY.

We show them how to paint the templates and next how to use the App.

The suprising thing was that the children didn't really know what the Water Cycle was so we explained it to them and then asked them different questions to made sure they had understood.

Also, we thought it was amazing the reaction of the children when they saw how there picture was reflected on the mobile phones. We loved watching the children enjoy out activity. 😨😱

Last and not least we would like to talk about the experience as STARS! ⭐⭐
Both of us think that this role is important to get the feeling of what it is like to be a teacher. It was down to us to explain the activity and make sure the children were understanding and enjoying the session. We were a Little bit nervous that morning but once the show was on time flew.

What is more, we learned that school is a complex structure in which sometimes the things don't happen as we have imagined and specially in that case, we had the obligation of adapting to the new situation and context that was presented to us.

Of course, all roles are important but we loved every minute of our opportunity to shine!
